Grow It: talking about responsibility! Hello girls!
And here we are! This is the first theme related to my reading Grow It!
Unanimously, you chose the theme number 2 to be processed first. You have very well chosen, because this is the first theme addresses chicory in his book. Moreover, it begins with a story to illustrate his remarks follow
I sets the scene: the scene at the hairdresser (Tyrone), where his mother took him to the chicory for straightening, probably. Chicory is sitting in a chair, ready to have their hair done while Tyrone's mother speaks of her hair ...
----------------------------------------------
Tyrone (a tone impatient and imperative) : Her hair is sparse. We can see through! In addition, they are fine and dry.
As he speaks, he fiddles with the hair of chicory and moves his head by pulling on the strands and then looking at them disapprovingly. He takes the scissors in his right hand ready to be cut in lengths cheerfully.
Helpless and almost in tears, the mother of chicory gave in and allowed Tyrone to cut the hair of chicory. After all, he was the expert in hair ...
few snips later, chicory, which was tucked into the living room with duvets falling at MBL was left with a small strata SL ...
Upon leaving the salon:
Another hairdresser in his client Tyrone did not need to remove as much of this small length. He speaks
looking chicory, so it can not be sure that she is concerned. Nothing better to put a blow to his self-esteem!
----------------------------------------------
That is, the stage is set. The reading of the scene made me sick at heart. it reminded me of my own experience too, when the hairdresser pushes cut when we did not want to, but she said "your hair they are tired, it'll make them leave." Then the next time, when we return, it re-cut again, sometimes without even asking our opinion ... You do not have the right to something like you? It clenching, eh? To think that they like to "govern" the heads of others! Except that no, we must not let such a thing. We are not doll heads on which they exercise! And we did not magical hair Barbie's mother who "leave" when shot and are even longer!
However, even if the hairdressers are sweating to want a haircut, it must recognize two to three small things that chicory perfectly underlines the following little story:
- When a hairdresser finds that our hair is damaged is that it's certainly the case.
They are probably damaged by a lack of care or inadequate then a routine (if one follows one) or by ignorance. And all that, it's not her fault but ours. In everyday life, we who on the head, hair and the (mis) treat more or less. We must therefore take responsibility and admit it for whatever reason (often lazy, lack of method, organization ...) that our hair is in this state. Certainly - dressing is (normally) a specialist in hair, but this is not a reason to put her hands to her fate of our hair for us.
And at the same time, making it responsible for the condition of our hair. Anyway, to make that happen, we must at some point, you consent and that's already taken one (the wrong) decision. So, if we can make this decision then we may well decide to "retain the power to decide on our own hair "just to see if it does not suit us better, right? It's like in life, as an adult, we are solely responsible for our choices, whether good or bad .. . Of course, it does not do all the work, but it is a good start, because you become proactive!
What do you think girls? :-)
